This winter has been tough. It has been really cold and I have spent way too much time training in the garage. I was getting to a point where I didn't want to ride at all. Inside the garage, outside in Pungo or Williamsburg; none of it really sounded good to me. Luckily I had a chance to go home to Wilmington this past weekend and it was just what I needed. I had 4 hours on the bike scheduled for Saturday and I was lucky enough to have perfect riding weather. In addition, my parents live out in the sticks so the roads are lightly traveled and nicely paved. It was great and the ride was a big confidence builder; lots of hard work.
Highway 210: miles and miles of smooth pavement
In other news, I received a tip from a friend who is obviously fully aware of my difficult to tame sweet tooth. He informed me that the bakery down the street has "Texas Size" donuts, so I wasted zero time getting over there to check it out. The picture really doesn't do it justice; it's HUGE!
They have glazed, but I opted for the chocolate frosted
I chipped away at it for about 24 hours before Steph said, "Ok, that's enough" and tossed it in the trash. It's a shame, I know I could have finished it.
Thanks for stopping by.
