Laying Low

Things have been pretty laid back lately. I have been doing some base training for next year but nothing too hard or too long. Just trying to get healthy and strong so I can start doing a little more focused work in December. It’s hard to lay low sometimes but it can also be fun too. I try to take advantage of it and enjoy some of the things I can’t really do when the training load is high, like watching my beloved Falcons on Thursday Night Football. Check it out, 4th quarter.

I actually made it all the way to the end. And they won!!

This weekend we are heading to the Outer Banks for the OBX Marathon and Half Marathon. Originally I had planned to race the marathon but I decided to crash my bike instead. So I switched to the half and I am going to pace Steph. We have a good group going down and we are all sharing a beach house so it should be a lot of fun.

In other news, IT’S HERE! I ordered my costume for next year’s Wicked 10k the day after this year’s race, so over the past two weeks the pieces have been filtering in from various online retailers. Yesterday, the final piece arrived so I tried on the entire ensemble for Steph to get her approval. She managed to stop laughing long enough to give it a thumbs up, so I boxed it up and hid it away in an undisclosed location. It will remain Top Secret until October 29, 2011 at 8:00am.

Only 50 short weeks until the big reveal!

Thanks for stopping by.
